Director

Established in 2006, Sligo Volunteer Centre is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. We are a community based organisation which promotes and supports volunteering across County Sligo.  We provide a link between people interested in volunteering and non-profit groups and organisations seeking volunteers to assist them with ongoing work or once off activities. We promote volunteering roles and provide a referral service to organisations.  We routinely facilitate training, peer support and networking events in the County. We are part of a nationwide network of 29 Volunteer Centres, affiliated to Volunteer Ireland.

We are seeking to recruit a new director to our voluntary board.  The role involves playing an active role in the organisation’s governance and strategic direction.  We welcome expressions of interest from individuals from all professional backgrounds who share our passion for the promotion of volunteering. 

The Board meet 5-6 times annually.  We facilitate a combination of online and in person meetings. Times of meetings alternate between daytime and evening time, having regard for the best fit for the majority.   Occasionally there may be sub committees or specific purpose tasks required outside of these meeting schedules.
