Trustee with Finance/Operations experience

Hygiene Hub is recruiting additional Board members who will play an important role in the strategic direction and development of the charity.

Established in early 2020, Hygiene Hub is a relatively new charity that is dedicated to tackling hygiene poverty. This refers to a lack of access to hygiene products such as toiletries, personal grooming and household cleaning products because of financial barriers. In recent research, it was found that 65% of those surveyed had either cut back or gone without toiletries because of their financial situation. Hygiene Hub works to reduce this stark figure and eliminate hygiene poverty in two ways:

• By lessening the impact of hygiene poverty by providing hygiene products to those who need them
• By challenging hygiene poverty in the long-term by advocating for improved social protection and a living wage

By joining our Board, you will be contributing your skills and expertise to a vibrant and growing charity that is dedicated to tackling hygiene poverty.

We are a charity that is led, managed and driven mainly by volunteers who are dedicated to tackling hygiene poverty and want to give back to their communities. Our ethos of ‘Give Local, Help Local’ is embodied by our Local Hub volunteers who donate, collect and deliver toiletries that will be provided freely to those facing hygiene poverty in their communities.

We are looking for dedicated new Board members who align with our values and are passionate about tackling poverty and/or hygiene poverty. Those with previous Board experience and those with expertise in poverty are preferred. 

Board members would be expected to commit 15-20 hours per month to the role which includes a monthly Board meeting and related preparation.

New Board members will be supported in their role with a dedicated induction session, Board handbook and overview of Hygiene Hub’s story, upcoming activities and our policies.
