Towards Healing is a non–governmental, charitable organisation. Its mission is to enable survivors of Catholic institutional, clerical and religious childhood abuse to recover, heal and rebuild their lives by providing professional counselling and other supports to them and to their family.
Towards Healing is seeking applications from suitable candidates to join our dedicated Board of voluntary members. To complement the skills of existing board members, we are ideally seeking an individual who has experience in Human Resources (HR) and/or Governance. Applications with expertise in best practice in HR management (ideally, but not necessary, in the not for profit sector) are particularly desirable.
As a Board Director, you will play a crucial role in guiding Towards Healing through its next phase of growth, ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality services and support. Working closely with the Director of Services, the Board helps to drive the organisation's strategic goals, which are underpinned by Towards Healing’s vision, mission, and values.
Successful candidates can expect to attend approximately 8 board meetings per year, with a hybrid meeting model (both online and in-person in Maynooth University). Additionally, Board Directors are expected to serve on one of the subcommittees, which typically meet online 4 times per year.
