Helplink Mental Health’s mission is to provide accessible, free or low cost mental health services for children, young people and adults; locally (West of Ireland), nationally (online) and internationally (via our Irish Abroad Service).
The three types of mental health services that Helplink provides are: Counselling, Information Provision and Education.

Employee Counselling Service: we provide a national staff (EAP) counselling service that is available 7 days a week; nationwide. This is a pay-as-you-go service; which is perfect for companies small, medium and large.
Gambling Addiction Counselling Service: Helplink provides a free gambling problem counselling service, nationally by phone and online (video consultations); funded by the Gambling Awareness Trust.
Galway & Mayo: we provide the above suite of counselling services face-to-face.
Tusla Commissioned Services: We have been providing counselling services to Tusla clients (Galway region) since 2017. Helplink provides the following counselling services to clients over 18 referred to us by Tusla and we also support their foster carers with these counselling services; general counselling, addiction counselling, couples counselling, bereavement counselling, anger management counselling, and art therapy.
Irish Abroad & Returning Irish Counselling Service: We also have an international service where we provide our unique free, online Irish abroad counselling service for Irish citizens living abroad and returning Irish emigrants as well. This service can be availed of through self referral directly to us or through our referral partners in Irish organisations across the globe and through Crosscare Migrant Project, Safe Home Ireland and the Irish Council for Prisoners Overseas (ICPO).
HSE Gambling and Gaming Programme: We are working with the HSE on a pilot programme for residents of Galway, Mayo, and Roscommon who are struggling with gambling and gaming addictions. The programme consists of 12 free one-to-one counselling sessions followed by 12 weeks of weekly group aftercare.
Helplink’s qualified, insured, and Garda-vetted counsellors are available for appointments 7 days a week and out–of–hours; for free or at low set costs.
