Our Organisation
Poppintree Early Education Centre (PEEC) was established in 2010 as a community-based early childhood care and education service, operating as a charity, governed by a voluntary Board of Trustees/Directors.
Our Mission
Poppintree Early Education Centre (PEEC) delivers high-quality education and care and family support for children aged 6 months to 4 years living in one of Ireland’s most socio-economically deprived areas. PEEC provides information, support and advice for parents and families of young children using trauma-informed responses that recognise and value the unique context of children’s lives. We are committed to advocating on behalf children and families in our community, and championing the extensive skills, knowledge, and expertise of our staff.
Our Objectives
- To provide high-quality, developmentally enriching early childhood care and education to the children and families in the Ballymun area.
- To provide accessible and affordable early childhood services for all members of the community, regardless of race, gender, family status, age, disability, or religious belief.
- To create a culture of partnership, community engagement and advocacy for social justice and equity within our local community and wider socio-political systems.
- To create inspiring, engaging, enriching and environmentally sustainable indoor and outdoor learning environments that respond to the different needs of individual children.
- To develop open, caring and connected interactions with children and families to support development, wellbeing, and learning.
- To support parents in their important role as the child’s first and primary educator, and ensure that families have access to information, local supports and community services that promote their child’s development and learning.
